Collegiate Level
SWE has over 400 collegiate and professional sections across the United States, Miami University being one of the collegiate sections. SWE provides scholarships to women pursuing ABET-accredited programs that prepare the women for careers in engineering, computer science and engineering technology. The Society for Women Engineers was founded in 1950 and is a non-profit organization. For more than six decades, SWE has given women engineers a unique place and voice within the engineering industry. The Society of Women Engineers is a not-for-profit educational and service organization that empowers women to succeed and advance in the field of engineering, and to be recognized for their life-changing contributions as engineers and leaders.
